{"id":10280,"date":"2023-10-25T15:50:28","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T13:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/associationimperatricezita.com\/spiritualite-zita\/"},"modified":"2025-01-23T19:54:39","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T18:54:39","slug":"spirituality","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/associationimperatricezita.com\/en\/spirituality\/","title":{"rendered":"Zita&#8217;s spirituality"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"10280\" class=\"elementor elementor-10280 elementor-6235\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-cd85fce elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"cd85fce\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-929cb16\" data-id=\"929cb16\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-952fed9 premium-header-block premium-lq__none premium-box-lq__none elementor-widget elementor-widget-premium-addon-dual-header\" data-id=\"952fed9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"premium-addon-dual-header.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"premium-dual-header-first-header \"><span class=\"premium-dual-header-first-span\">Prayer life <\/span><span class=\"premium-dual-header-second-header \">of the servant of God<\/span><\/h2> \t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72be3ae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"72be3ae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>With her husband Charles, the Servant of God had an<strong> intense eucharistic life.<\/strong>\u00a0 From her youth, Zita considered her daily participation in the Eucharist as the indispensable foundation of her life of prayer and acts of charity.\u00a0 She thus united her whole life and family to the redeeming sacrifice of Christ.\u00a0 The presence of the Blessed Sacrament in her various homes allowed her to live every day in the intimacy of the Lord and later as a widow, to unite with her beloved husband:<em><strong> \u201cIn the heart of Jesus we will find ourselves\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Charles told her on his agony bed.<\/p><p>The Servant of God was a woman of prayer: she had a<strong> great devotion<\/strong> to the<strong> Sacred Heart o<\/strong><strong>f Jesus <\/strong><strong>and<\/strong> the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to<strong> which she consecrated her family.\u00a0 The recitation of the<\/strong> Rosary<strong> was part of his daily life.\u00a0 The couple would begin their day with prayer and ends it with prayer.<\/strong><\/p><p>Her daily life was guided by the motto of her patron saint, Saint Zita of Lucca<em><strong> \u00abHeart to God and hands at work\u00bb<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 She would come across that moto in the<strong> Benedictine spirituality<\/strong>,<em><strong> Ora et labora. <\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>In the most dramatic circumstances of her life, she used prayer.\u00a0 In her account to her son Otto of the rather agitated flight leading the Zurich imperial couple to Hungary for the second restoration attempt (October 1921), Zita wrote:<em> \u201cI called all the angels of heaven and prayed the psalm \u201c<\/em><strong><em>Qui habitat<\/em><\/strong><em>\u201d<\/em> (Ps 90) and the \u201c<strong>Sub tuum<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The young couple engraved on their wedding band the prayer to the Virgin Mary<em><strong> Sub tuum<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p><p><em>\u00ab Sub tuum praesidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genitrix : nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. \u00bb<\/em><\/p><p><em>Under the shelter of your mercy, we take refuge, Holy Mother of God.
